i called four friends on this walk, company as i walked yorkville. the night gradually grew cooler and the sidewalks quieter, as i probably talked too brazenly into my phone.
carl schurz park, as mentioned on a previous walk, is an oasis. a little ballerina posed for a picture.
the sights and senses of this meandering: leaf blower loud; red socks; young doormen; a floppy leaved tree in a too small shopping cart; blue suit; green scrubs; dog in a purse; pink streamers floating away from a tricycle; emerging baby bump; sunset riding bikers galore; mark ruffalo?!; fuzzy moss; a pristine coca cola can; goldfish swimming in a plastic bag; a seven person black lives matter gathering; a tree stump; the scientology celebrity centre; tempting insomnia cookie wisps; an outdoor bike repair corner; the new york society library; an italian couple and a pup; a family of five, a rare sight, no child older than eight.
note to self: one can enter the east river esplanade from 81st st.
each time i passed by the met, it became more mesmerizing, as its lights grew brighter in the darkening sky.
the m4 bus back home was peaceful, welcome.
